Best Jungle Villas in Ubud Under $200

Ubud holds the strongest value scores of anywhere we track in Bali. Jungle-valley properties deliver what the coast charges a premium for, at benchmarks the coast cannot match.

The highest ValueTrip Score in our entire Bali database — 91, Komaneka at Bisma — sits here, and its good-deal line is still under $200 a night.

How to read our prices

Every property below carries benchmarks derived from tracked observations across five platforms and three booking windows. We publish the numbers you should judge a price against — not today’s rate, which is wrong by next week.

Why Ubud scores higher than the coast

Three reasons show up consistently in the records. Land is cheaper inland, so the same nightly rate buys more space and a valley view instead of a wall. Ubud properties skew towards Stable price ratings, meaning you are less exposed to date roulette. And the review scores here run high on a smaller base — these are places guests come back to.

The catch is availability, not price. Valley-view inventory is genuinely limited, and the good rooms go six or more weeks out.

When to book: Bali month by month

Peak dates add up to 1.5× to the same room. Shifting your trip by three weeks usually saves more than switching property.

What drives itJun–Aug is dry-season peak. December carries a Christmas spike of roughly 80%.

Our advice: Book Apr–May for the best combination of rates and dry weather. Avoid 20 Dec–5 Jan, the most expensive window of the year.

Booking Ubud well

  1. Book six or more weeks ahead. Ubud’s constraint is supply, not price. Valley-view rooms sell out first and they are the ones worth having.
  2. Pay the valley-view premium. It recurs in our notes across multiple properties as the single upgrade that changes the stay.
  3. Check Agoda for the independent villas, Booking.com for the resorts. The split is consistent across our records.
  4. Use the low months. March and April are the cheapest window of the year and Ubud’s greenest — the one time low price and good conditions coincide.

How we score properties

The ValueTrip Score is ours. We do not copy platform review averages — those tell you whether guests were happy, not whether you are paying a fair price.

WeightComponentWhy it counts
40%Value for moneyWhat you get per dollar against comparable properties
20%LocationWalkability and access to what you came for
15%Guest reviewsVerified scores across all five platforms
15%UniquenessWhether you could get this experience elsewhere
10%Price stabilityHow predictable the rate is across the year

Our Ubud records are re-checked on a rolling three-day cycle across five platforms and three booking windows — tonight’s rate, four weeks out, and three months out. Benchmarks change when the pattern changes, not when one price moves.
